Three years of consistent community service — driven entirely by own resources, volunteer spirit, and the belief that organised women can transform society.
Every year on 5th March — the birthday of Suryanarayan — Suryashakti Mahila Seva Samiti transforms a personal celebration into community service. This is our signature annual program.
Suryashakti Mahila Seva Samiti formally constituted on 5th March 2022 under the Societies Registration Act, IGR Cuttack, Odisha. Smt. Puspanjali Pradhan (MSW) elected as Founder & President. Governing body of 7 women members formed.
On the 1st birthday of Suryanarayan, a free medical health camp was organised at Korua providing health checkups, free medicines, and nutritional guidance. A community meal (bhoji) was arranged for all participants — sharing the joy of celebration with the community.
On the 2nd birthday of Suryanarayan, a free vocational tailoring training program was conducted for 18 women and girls from Korua and nearby villages. Participants received hands-on training in tailoring with all materials provided free of cost — equipping them with a marketable skill for self-reliance.
The 3rd Annual Seva Day is being planned. SMSS invites partners, donors, and volunteers to co-create this year's program — expanding reach to more villages and more women.
